Python Developer

A unique data automation position straddling between science fiction and applicable tools!

Your job:

We are looking for an addition to our automation team of Machine Learning and Data Automation Engineers. As our new Python Developer you will work closely with our CIO, Machine Learning and Data Automation Engineers and Geo Data Specialists in our automation team. The automation team is part of the deployment department and its goals are to automate and streamline the collection, processing and workflows of geodata.

The primary objective of the Automation Team is to handle a substantially increased map production volume by automating the manual processes using deep learning techniques and cloud hosted services for our team of Geo Data Specialists. Our efforts involve step by step improvements of existing processes. We use Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes as our cloud platforms of choice, and we develop tools and plugins in Python. We use Scrum to break down and plan our work.

The automation team as well as the rest of MapsPeople is growing, so this is also a unique chance to grow in your role as you take part in our exciting and ambitious journey.

Specifically, your job is to:

  • Bridge the gap between our deep learning cloud services and our Geo Data Specialists with easy to use tools and plugins created in Python
  • Create, build and maintain cloud based services
  • Analyze processes and workflows to identify where to automate and simplify
  • Create test routines to ensure high data quality in both input and output for large scale databases
  • Design and code GIS tools as well as improve and document workflows
  • Prepare datasets for our machine learning engineers

Your profile:

To be successful in this position you have a background as a Python Developer or similar. We are open to new graduates as well as more experienced profiles with industry experience within:

  • Python programming language
  • Handling geospatial data (you love geodata)
  • QGIS, ArcGis or similar GIS software
  • PostgreSQL/PostGIS

If you have previous experience with large scale databases or additional programming languages and/or Google Cloud Platform or similar, it is an advantage.

We value team spirit and believe that the greatest results are achieved together, so it is very important for us that our new colleague is a true team player. Other than that you are:

  • Creative
  • Analytical
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and a drive to produce high quality work

You communicate fluently in English. Proficiency in Danish is an additional plus, but not a must.

Your expectations:

You can expect a job with a lot of exciting professional and personal challenges. Your effort will make a difference for clients around the world, where our platform plays a central role in regards to indoor mapping, indoor positioning, and in the integration with various software and hardware technologies.

You can expect us to work together and pull together as a team.

You will experience modern office facilities with room for contemplation and an informal and dynamic company culture.

We offer a compensation package that matches your qualifications as well as flexitime, lunch, and retirement and healthcare plans.
