Do you dream of an opportunity to design digital products that reach millions of users globally for some of the world's largest organisations? Are you motivated by ensuring the product has the impact you imagined? Then we’ve got just the right position for you!

Your job:

MapsPeople is looking for a UX Designer to join our development team working on MapsIndoors, the leading indoor navigation platform.

The MapsIndoors platform includes “Showcase apps” and Software Development Kits (SDKs) for iOS, Android and Web, as well as our MapsIndoors CMS.

As our UX Designer, you are the user's voice in design sessions, you contribute to decision-making on product direction, and you work closely with our Customer Success and Product Management team. You will work on ambiguous problems and shape them into clear goals. Concretely, some of the tasks are:

  • Provide knowledge on accessibility, established design patterns, and the possibilities and limitations of Android, iOS and Web platforms from the design point-of-view
  • Design user-friendly features in the MapsIndoors CMS
  • Create, collaborate and iterate on user workflows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
  • Design and ship high quality product improvements
  • Help ensure the quality of new features

The workload of the UX team varies from time to time. At times you will focus on the training and documentation platform, where many of our MapsIndoors customers start their journey. This will both be in terms of look and feel, and providing actual content to the site. Other times you will help out with quality assurance, ensuring our platforms work as expected and follow agreed-upon specifications.

Your profile:

We believe that we accomplish the best results by working together, so it is a must that you share the same view and consider yourself a team player. It is a plus if you have an academic background, but your technical skills and knowledge of good design can be obtained through all kinds of experience - within or apart from your professional career. You will be part of a highly technical workplace, where your sharp eye for details and knowledge of web and mobile technologies will come in handy.

You have worked with a Design System, and modern design tools such as Figma (which we use at MapsIndoors), Sketch, Adobe XD and the like. You have great communication skills, and know exactly how to present a given feature to different audiences. You also know when to keep polishing the finer details of a design, and when it's good enough.

We expect you to be forthcoming and proactive, while being able to explain the design decisions you make. Moreover, you are able to ensure that a feature meets the required level of maturity and adheres to specifications before shipping.

Your expectations:

You can expect a job with a lot of exciting professional and personal challenges. Your effort will make a difference for clients around the world, where our platform plays a central role in regards to indoor mapping, indoor positioning, and in the integration with various software and hardware technologies.

You can expect us to work together and pull together as a team.

You will experience modern office facilities with room for contemplation and an informal and dynamic company culture.

We offer a compensation package that matches your qualifications as well as flexitime, lunch, and retirement and healthcare plans.
