Customer-minded Application Support Engineer

The Development Department is responsible for the development and maintenance of MapsIndoors, our world-leading flagship of indoor navigation.

Due to an increased number of customers and new solutions, we now introduce this new role in our organization in order for us to better assist customers by delivering top-of-class development assistance. 

You will be part of the Development team which is based in Nørresundby (DK), where you will work close to developers, but also together with sales engineers and project managers.

Your job:

As Application Support Engineer your key role is to support customers implementing their own solution on top of our MapsIndoors platform. This involves joining the customers’ development teams for a few weeks, of which one or two are typically on-site, and...

  • guide on software architecture, and how to best make use of the MapsIndoors technology
  • develop customer-specific software

You will work with many different customers, ranging from some of the world's largest corporations and best-known technology companies, to smaller, local companies. Your effort will impact millions of end users every day, while giving you a unique opportunity of a very diverse work day, as well as gaining knowledge of a large range of technologies, processes and work methods.

You should expect to travel to customers 6 - 8 weeks a year.

When not assisting a specific customer you will be improving the development support environment with additional showcase examples, tutorials, samples, documentation and other artifacts, which help customers succeed in their journey with MapsPeople.

Your profile:

A successful Application Support Engineer needs to collaborate both across the organisation and with customers, so interpersonal and customer service skills are as important as technical skills.

We expect you to have an educational background within software development, and at least 3 - 5 years of experience from a similar role, helping customers developing applications for iOS, Android, JavaScript and/or mobile cross-platform.

Due to the variety of technologies and architectures of customers’ applications you must possess a broad skill set. The MapsIndoors platform supports these frameworks (, which are required skills for this position:

  • iOS (Objective-C)
  • Android (Java)
  • JavaScript

Furthermore, customers use other technologies which are advantageous to know of:

  • React Native
  • Xamarin
  • Other frameworks

Furthermore you are used to agile processes and technologies like:

  • Jira
  • Git

You communicate fluently in English. Proficiency in Spanish is an additional plus.
